The Australian Fur Seal (pusillus doriferus) has a relatively restricted distribution around parts of Tasmania and Victoria. It is closely related to the South African Fur Seal.

The Australian Fur Seal was hunted to the edge ofextinction in the 19th century, but population sizes are now increasing.
