Places in Tasmania > Hobart >  Hobart harbour

images 360 panoramas map accommodation

Hobart harbour is a fairly unique mix of fishing boats, sailing yachts, motor cruisers and commercial vessels all mixed in one small area. In summer we also get many cruise ships towering the waterfront. It's a beautiful place to go for a stroll, conveniently situated between Salamanca and the city centre. The harbour is a good place for fish and chips with several restaurants and fish punts offering yummy local fish with crunchy potato goodness

Best things to do on the Hobart waterfront

  • take a walk to explore all the boats and activity around the harbour
  • grab some fish and chips from the fish punts in Constitution Dock
  • go for a paddle on a kayak and get a different perspective of the harbour (very cool)
  • Friday evening jazz and cocktails at the Henry Jones Art Hotel
  • explore the art galleries on Hunter Street
