Only 1 hour from Hobart, Mt Field National Park is the perfect place to experience ancient forests, waterfalls and mountainous landscapes (on the plateau).

Explore the famous Russell Falls and surrounding forest.

Go up to the plateau and walk around Lake Dobson. A short but stunning walk amongst giant pandani.

If you feel energetic the walk to the Tarn Shelf is superb (1 to several days).

It is not often that a wild platypus can be spotted so closely. This one was photographed just down from Russel Falls in Mt Field Ntl Park.
