Every Saturday morning the Salamanca Market gives a great sense of community to Hobart. Locals and tourists alike enjoy the food, hand-made art and craft and other local produce on offer. The Salamanca Market is open from 8.30am until 3pm every Saturday.

Best things to do / buy / see at the Salamanca Market

  • have breakfast at the market or in one the many cafes nearby
  • snack on freshly fried oliebollen with cinnamon sugar (Dutch doughnuts)
  • try one of Mrs Smith's famous scallop pies
  • Huon Pine objects (pastry rollers, bread boards, jewellery boxes and more)
  • street performers
  • listen to Cary Lewincamp play the guitar live (just gorgeous)
  • prints from local photographers
  • and so much more...
